Mridu Gupta
”No Single Organization changes society alone. Every milestone celebrated rests on the collective efforts of communities, civil society organizations, governments, researchers, philanthropists, and countless individuals who choose to serve a cause larger than themselves. The credit for change belongs to the ecosystem, not any single institution.
As the Co-founder and CEO of CAPED, Mridu has played a pivotal role in cervical cancer prevention by driving awareness, education, strategic screening programs, early detection initiatives, and patient navigation models. She has been instrumental in health system strengthening efforts, working to bridge gaps in cancer care infrastructure and advocating for the integration of screening and prevention into primary healthcare services. Under her leadership, CAPED has actively engaged in policy advocacy to improve cancer affordability management and care across India.
Beyond CAPED, she holds key leadership positions in national and global networks
dedicated to women’s cancers. She is a founding member of the Asia Pacific Women’s Cancer Coalition (APAC WCC) and the Beat Cervical Cancer (BCC) Network and is a technical advisor to The Global HPV Consortium (GHC), Cervical Cancer Action for Elimination (CCAE) Network, and the Cervical Cancer Elimination Consortium India (CCEC-I).
A respected voice in global public health, Mridu has co-authored several abstracts and presented CAPED’s work at prestigious scientific forums such as the Human Development and Capability Association (HDCA) 2024 (India), UICC World Cancer Congress 2024 (Switzerland), NCI’s 12th Annual Symposium on Global Cancer Research, and the 36th Annual Conference of the International Papillomavirus Society 2024 (UK).
