Emcee Shraddha

Shraddha Katti, currently 23, came to Kranti at 15. Having been born and raised in Kamathipura red-light area her entire life, she hated school, where her teachers told her “a whore’s daughter will only become a whore.” Battling the stigma of her teachers and fellow students, Shraddha stuck through school and finished 12th, but in the process, she discovered her true talent – art. Since finishing 12th, Shraddha has volunteered as an art teacher in Mumbai’s hospitals for children dying of cancer. Her first formal job was training transgender beggars and sex workers to become professional artists. Since then, she’s galavanting around the world, spending a semester at International People’s College in Denmark, then completing two art residencies (on full scholarships) in Dublin and Amsterdam.
