Deputy General Manager (CSR) at Nayara Energy

CSR cannot simply be external development budget. To be truly socially responsible, companies must embed sustainability & ethics into their core operations, actively protecting the environment, their local communities and their own employees throughout the entire value chain.

Shiv Bhagwan is a seasoned CSR, Sustainability, and Community Development professional with over a decade of experience in designing and implementing high-impact social development initiatives. Currently serving as Deputy General Manager (CSR) at Nayara Energy, he leads strategic community engagement and social investment programs focused on creating sustainable and inclusive growth for communities.

Throughout his career, Shiv has successfully led initiatives across education, healthcare, women empowerment, livelihoods, skill development, and rural transformation, positively impacting more than 50,000 lives and engaging over 70,000 community members. He has extensive experience in developing partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, and national and international organizations to deliver scalable and sustainable social impact.

Prior to joining Nayara Energy, Shiv served as Head of CSR at JSW Cement, Nagaur Project, where he spearheaded community development initiatives across multiple locations. Earlier, he held key leadership roles at Hindustan Zinc Limited (Vedanta Group), managing large-scale CSR and rural development programs, including the promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and sustainable livelihood models that received recognition at the national level.

A strong advocate of sustainable development and responsible business practices, Shiv has participated in the UN Global Compact SDG Innovation Accelerator Program and is a Certified CII Sustainability Assessor. He was also honoured with the various recognitions for his exceptional contribution towards community development.

Shiv holds an MBA in Rural Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), combining business acumen with deep expertise in sustainability, ESG, and community transformation.
