Vikrant Khazanchi

Vikrant Khazanchi heads the AGNIi Mission: a programme of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India and is one of the nine missions under the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council (PM-STIAC). The Mission is executed at Invest India.

As the Head of the Mission, Vikrant partners with pioneering government agencies to formulate technology and innovation responses answering the most pressing challenges of our times: ecological sustainability and climate change, livelihoods and agriculture, public safety and security. These indigenous technology responses range from advanced emerging tech to frugal, grassroots innovations. Vikrant is passionate about showcasing the potential of science, technology and innovation as key enablers for advancing human development priorities and citizen welfare. The model approach and advisory developed at AGNIi are capable of scaling, emulation, or replication for wider impact.

Vikrant has earlier worked extensively in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Product Development, and Data Science. Prior to joining the Government ecosystem, he was based out of New York and was consulting senior leadership of Fortune 500 companies on their AI-driven transformation strategies. He has also led several programs to build enterprise scale AI-based products and solutions during his time at Fractal Analytics Inc, a pioneer in AI consulting and now a unicorn. Vikrant holds a B.Tech from IIT, Delhi.
